Ranger Talks and Nature Walks – Bird Walk

Accompany a Commerce City Park Ranger on a one-hour bird walk! You will be taught to identify common species and even identify some by sound! Please bring your own binoculars or spotting scope. A few pairs of binoculars may be available to borrow. All levels of bird watchers are welcome. Registration is appreciated.

Ragweed Draw Open Space- Meet at River Run Parkway/E 116th Ave. There is street parking. Please bring binoculars, bring water, hat, sunblock, snacks and close-toed shoes. We will be walking approximately 0.5-1 miles.

Are you gearing up for our upcoming bird walk? This month’s walk will take place at Ragweed Draw Open Space. Be sure to follow these tips to prepare for an hour of fun:
• BYOB – Bring your own binoculars or scope. Limited binoculars are available to borrow.
• Don’t forget to take notes – Bring your favorite field notebook to take notes of what you see.
• Hydrate – Be sure to bring a water bottle for the walk.
• Protect your skin – Wear a hat and bring sunblock, as there is little to no shade on this path.
• Don’t go hungry – Pack some snacks to eat along the walk. Please hold onto any trash until we find a trash can.
• Have the right shoes – Wear close-toed shoes, as this space is gravel. This walk will be up to one mile long.
