In 2022, 254.4 tons (624,960 lbs) of cardboard was recycled through the cardboard only recycling dumpsters. Located at the Commerce City Civic Center, 7887 E. 60th Ave. and Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E 112th Ave., the dumpsters are available for residents to use free of charge.
As a reminder, these dumpsters are for cardboard only. Non-cardboard items, bags of trash, and other contaminants reduce what can be recycled and should not be placed in these dumpsters. Cardboard boxes need to be broken down and flattened before being placed in the dumpster and should be free of food, liquid, or waste.
Additional recycling and trash can service is also available for a small fee through Republic Services. For large items, residents are encouraged to utilize their quarterly free large-item pickup, schedule an additional large-item pickup for a fee, or participate in their neighborhood’s upcoming Neighborhood Curbside Cleanup day.
