A motorcyclist died after crashing into a semitruck in the 9700 block of 96th Avenue on Friday afternoon, according to the Commerce City Police Department.

Commerce City police reported the crash on X just before 2 p.m. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the department.
Police have not yet determined if alcohol, drugs or speed were factors in the crash, said spokesperson Joanna Small. The motorcyclist will be identified by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
Police closed 96th Avenue from Heinz Way to Dallas Street for the investigation, and the road was still closed as of 3:20 p.m.
