Starting Monday, Oct. 3, a section of the Second Creek Trail between E. 101st and E. 104th avenues will be closed for tunneling work through January 2023. This closure accommodates infrastructure work on the Second Creek Pipeline being constructed by Metro Water Recovery. Learn more about the project.
Detours will be in place:
- Southbound trail users should exit the Second Creek Trail at E. 104th Avenue going west, use the sidewalk to travel south along Idalia Street to Fronterra Park, and re-join the trail on E. 101st. Avenue
- Northbound users should exit the trail at E. 101st Avenue, travel west through Fronterra Park, turn north on Idalia Street, and re-join the trail at E. 104th Avenue
As a reminder, the Second Creek Trail also remains closed between E. 95th and E. 97th avenues, including the 96th Avenue underpass, through January for work on the same pipeline project.
